Bible Study Helps
The Internet offers unprecedented opportunity to study the Bible in depth with many useful links to websites with information about places in Israel, maps, the meaning of names, historical information about people who are mentioned in the Bible, the origins of customs, the original Greek and Hebrew words and their meanings, etc.
If one has a computer, it is so easy to acquire an intensive Bible education, without having to pay to go to Bible school and have the guts kicked out of your faith by teachers who don't really believe the Bible, as some students have discovered. If the Lord leads you to go to Bible school, make sure you hear Him correctly as to the right school to attend.
When I spoke with my pastor many years ago about attending Bible school, he asked me, "Well, do you want to learn to minister with power, or do you want to acquire dead, dry knowledge of the Bible?" My answer, of course, was the former, so I never went to Bible school, but I have applied myself to reading the Bible and meditating on it.
