At the bottom of this page are links to some excellent ministries. The views I have expressed on my website are my own and not necessarily shared by the ministers I recommend. In fact, I know for sure that a lot of them don't share my views on tithing, but I trust that none of us differ in our statements of faith.
The baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in tongues, has helped me to be a Christian for over forty years. In the sect that I was raised, church was so boring that I could hardly wait to leave home, so that I didn't have to attend church meetings anymore.
I had no idea that God is willing in this day and age to show His power. I thought that those days were past; if indeed they were anything more than just stories in the Bible that Christians told people to get them to conform to their standards.
People want to see the power of God. And why shouldn't they? They see the devil's power all the time in sicknesses and wars and other evils. God wants us to know that He has not left us alone to fend for ourselves against this wicked adversary. He sent Yeshua to show us the way back to Him.
Yeshua demonstrated in His earthly ministry that God is always willing to heal. He even healed people who didn't know Him or want to know Him; all they wanted was a healing. God did it anyway because He wanted those people to see that He loves them and cares about their suffering.
I have personally experienced physical healing in various ways, but that really wasn't the hook that has kept me interested in God all these years. Of course I need His help and it has encouraged me when He has come through, but what turned my crank right from the start is that the Bible came alive when I read it after I was saved. It was no longer boring.
Was that due to the baptism of the Holy Spirit? I don't know. Maybe it is simply because having Yeshua in my heart finally put me in tune with God. But having the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the gift of tongues has been a big help when I have been in distress and didn't know what to pray. Also when I am burdened for others and don't know what to pray, I can pray for them in tongues. After a while, the burden lifts from my heart because the Holy Spirit is satisfied with what I prayed for them in my heavenly languages.
The ministries that I have listed on this page have helped encourage my faith. As far as I know, these ministers are all Charismatic Christians. These are people who hear from God and He uses them in mighty ways. If you aren't sure about how valid the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gift of tongues is for today, going to these web sites is a way to take a peek without committing yourself, just to see what is going on in areas of the Kingdom of God that you might not be familiar with.
If you don't agree with everything these people teach, then save the wheat and blow the chaff away, but do save the wheat.
The Bible says that there is safety in a multitude of counsellors. I have found it useful to read on the Internet what other ministers say about various teachings. They sometimes bring out points that I had not considered that demonstrate errors. This helps us to not set teachers up on a pedestal and suppose that they are right about everything.
I have also noticed that some of those who are correct in pointing out an error are also in error themselves on other points. There is no substitute for reading the Bible often to get to know it well, and learning about the culture of those days, as well as taking a look at the original Hebrew and Greek.
You will be so blessed by getting to know more about the ministries of these brothers and sisters whom I recommend. Though they have faults (who doesn't?) and aren't right about everything (who is?), they are gifts to us from God.
