The Majesty of God
Chapter Six – The Queen
The Son dove down towards the Earth with His beloved child and took him back to Eden. Their feet landed softly on the springy grass and moss beside a stream. The Lord said again, "It is not good for man to be alone." Then the Lord reached forth His hand and touched Red's face. Red felt himself become sleepy and he sank to the ground and fell into a deep state of unconsciousness.
Satan lurked behind a tree to see what would happen next. The Son knew he was there, but He ignored him. The Creator knelt and reached into the man, His hand passing through skin and muscle, and took some substance from inside of him.
As He withdrew His hand, the man's form changed. Hormones ebbed out of him, and some of the remaining hormones multiplied and surged through his body, changing his form to become more muscular and hairier, the bones longer, heavier, the frame taller, and the chest flatter. The hairs on the lower part of his face thickened and lengthened into a bright, glossy, red beard that flowed down his chest.
The Creator carried away the shimmering substance that He had taken from the man. Near a small pool, He settled on the grass to form a daughter. The substance He had taken from the man's body multiplied in His hands, and He sculpted it until a slender human form came forth. The skin was softer than the man's, the face smooth and beardless, and the features finer and more exquisite. The torso and limbs were less muscular, but strong and firm, with gentle curves and a lot less hair.
Satan squinted with interest at the female human. He had seen the female animals, most of which were smaller than their males, so it made sense that the human female would be smaller, too.
The Creator passed His hand over her head and hair grew from her scalp until it flowed down the length of her body in shining, black waves, covering her like a blanket. The woman lay across His knees, breathing gently. Smiling, the Creator leaned forward and kissed the tip of her nose. Her eyelashes fluttered and her eyes opened. The woman lay in her Father's arms and looked up at Him in wonder.
Lucifer ground his teeth. The woman had the same glory on her as the man. It hurt his eyes to behold such brightness.
Ah, but all was not lost. The Tree of Life was here in the Garden, translated from Heaven to this planet. It was out of Lucifer's reach because he had no material form with which he could obtain its powerful fruit. Besides that, he didn't have any authority over the Garden, so if he could handle that fruit, it would not give him any of its benefits. But if he could get a body to operate through, he might be able to get this man and woman to give him their authority!
The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was in the Garden, as well, in very the spot where he had sprung from when he came to see what was happening in this temporal realm. Its fruit looked luscious. It felt so attractive to his foul heart, the knowledge of how to manipulate. Satan smirked. Everything on this restored planet wasn't holy. There was potential for rebellion right here in the midst of its seat of rule.
Oh, yes, he knew the old spiel about how God wants voluntary obedience and so there had to be opportunity to disobey in order for there to be exercise of free will. Perhaps this weakness that God had for allowing his creatures to make choices wasn't actually voluntary. Maybe giving others the opportunity to rebel wasn't something that he could help. Maybe it was just a condition of the contest for the Throne of the Universe that contenders should have a chance at being able to oust the one who styled himself as The Creator and Lord of All from off of that Throne.
As ill as it made him feel to see and hear all these new creatures lauding their Creator, he would stick around to seek an opportunity. He would get those humans to hand this planet over to him, and demand the worship of every creature upon it. With their mighty praises, it might be just the thing that would take the rulership of the Universe from God.
Lucifer panted with anticipation as his fantasies blossomed further. When he got onto that Throne and ruled the Universe, he sure wasn't going to do anything stupid like giving anyone a choice to obey or disobey. They would obey him, no matter how stupid and ridiculous and destructive his commands. He would issue plenty of commands like that, and spread suffering all around, just for the fun of it! Lucifer snickered.
The woman heard it and looked in his direction, but the Lord crooked His finger under her chin and turned her face back towards His. She smiled back at Him. There was music all around and glowing beings hovered over them, singing with deep voices and high voices and every range between blending together.
Love rolled over her in waves as she looked into those eyes that held worlds of love. The Creator said with a fond smile, "You are my daughter. I am your Father." She reached forth her arms like a little child and nestled against His breast, just enjoying for a while the sound and feel of His heart beating. It was saying, "I love you, I love you, …"
After a while, she looked out from the shelter of His strong arms, and saw the trees with birds flying among them, the angels above, still singing their song and fluttering with joy. She reached forth her hand and stroked the grass; it was soft and its fragrance filled her nostrils. A creature timidly came close to her and sniffed. She laughed at its curiosity and stroked its head, which sent shivers through its frame because of the glory that rolled off of her.
The Son lifted her to her feet and walked with her through the Garden. The sun was getting low in the sky. He talked to her, explaining about the things that she was seeing. She walked along in wonder, her wide eyes taking it all in, and her heart bursting with pleasure at being with her Father who loved her. They came to a stream and walked along the side of it. The woman was intrigued by the water and the creatures swimming beneath its clear surface.
Abruptly they came to a stop and the woman looked up at her Father's face, her eyes inquiring why. He smiled and looked away. She followed His line of vision and saw the man lying on the grass, fast asleep. She marvelled at the beauty of his form and her heart filled with a strange, sweet longing.
She recognized that this was one like herself. She had seen no other humans in her walk through the Garden; just animals and birds and reptiles and insects and water creatures – and their mates. It had stirred a thought at the back of her mind, but she had been too intrigued with listening to her Father to pay much attention to it.
Now she realized that there was another reason He had made her. Most certainly because He wanted fellowship with her, but He also made her because this man needed her. He was the lord of the Earth whom she would rule beside as his queen. She also realized that she needed him.
As much as her Father loved her, and as much as she loved Him, she needed this man to complete her. He was only a created being like her, and as such, he would never be able to know her as completely as her Creator knew her, nor love her as much as He loved her, but she was designed to be a wife and a mother.
The Creator smiled and motioned her to stay where she was. The angels stopped singing and seemed to hold their breath with anticipation. The Creator knelt by the man and touched his face.
Red felt slumber slide off of him. The garden was quiet. He opened his eyes and looked up, and saw the Creator kneeling next to him with a tender smile on His face. The last thing he remembered was his Friend saying, "It is not good for man to be alone."
How had he come to be down here on the ground? He must have fallen asleep. He knew that something had happened while he slept because he felt very different. Things inside him had been taken, other things adjusted. He looked down at his body and saw that it was different, not exactly like the Creator's anymore.
Red touched his chest, which was hairier now, more muscular, and almost flat. Its sponginess was gone. His beard had grown thicker and longer. Puzzled, he looked back up at his Creator to see if He would explain this to him. With a little smile and a bright look of joy in his eye, the Creator turned his head to look at the woman, and then Red saw her.
His eyes opened wide with wonder. The woman stood there shyly, looking unsure of what she should do, though she could tell by the look on the man's face that he was very pleased to see her. Her big, dark eyes sparkled back at him and a dimple winked next to her mouth when she smiled happily at his awe.
Red leaped to his feet and continued to stare with his mouth open while the Creator laughed with delight at his amazement. The angels laughed for joy, as well, and began to sing again. The woman looked up at them, and then back at her man.
Red's mouth felt dry, he was tongue–tied, and his legs almost buckled beneath him as his eyes drank her in. He wondered at this strange feeling. He was going to feel it often in the years of courtship that followed.
Adam was so stunned by her beauty and the great gift God had given him in his wife that his mind likely could not form words in those first minutes. I once asked a man who had been married for many years and still cherished his wife what he thought the first time he saw her. He replied, "I didn't think anything. My heart just went thump, thump."
Red reached out his hand to take hold of the woman's elegant fingers, marvelling at their slenderness and the silky feel of the skin on her hand. He touched her exquisitely–shaped, velvety lips that smiled at him, then the smooth chin, and looked down at her form.
Through the glow of light that cloaked her, Red saw that the woman's body was equipped to produce and nourish children. Aha! So that was where his chest went.1 The woman had most of his female hormones in her body and very little of the male hormones. (Even today, men still have milk lines in their bodies, though they no longer have any capacity to nurse.) The woman's breasts were narrower than his had been because her frame was smaller, and they looked softer, but they were more pronounced because she didn't have as much male hormone to balance the female hormones. He felt excited at the thought that someday he and this woman would hold their children in their arms.
Red ran his fingers through the long, shining cape of hair that draped his queen's shoulders and his eyes locked with hers. His voice was as musical as ever, but deeper than before, as he said, "This is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. I will call her woman, because she came from man. And I will call her "Lifegiver," for she will be the mother of all humans."
The Creator spoke and said, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the Earth. Subdue it and rule over all its creatures. Eat the fruit from its plants, and it is to be food for all the animals and flying creatures and water creatures and insects, too."
Red and Lifegiver had moved closer to each other when the Creator began to commission them. Red drew Lifegiver into his arms. Lifegiver's body was not quite ready to bear children; the eggs within her ovaries were still dormant. The Creator made her that way so that she and her husband would get to know each other first as individuals before mating. They were more complex than animals, and had higher requirements. It would be more exciting for them to wait, to first explore each other's minds, and form a strong emotional bond. That strong emotional bond would also fit them better for their roles as parents.
This is the idea behind the ancient Hebrew model of marriage. The betrothal period was meant to give a couple time to get to know each other on an emotional level first, giving the bride opportunity to learn to trust her husband, so that she would be ready for sexual intimacy, as well as being a good exercise in restraint for them. It mirrors the spiritual relationship between the Lord Yeshua and those who have received Him as their Saviour. Our life on Earth is our time of courtship and betrothal where we get to know our Bridegroom better and develop trust in Him.
In Adam's and Eve's sexual union, besides the bearing of children, God meant for there to always be great pleasure and satisfaction, and He intended for the same blessing to be passed on to their children. Sexual intimacies are meant to be the sole prerogative of a male and female who are covenanted to each other as partners in life before they come together physically, representative of the exclusivity that God requires of us in our relationship with Him. We are to have no other gods.
Everything in Nature points to spiritual truths. When people have sex with someone other than their own spouse, or engage in any type of sexual perversion, they disrespect the holiness of sexual union, which is a visual aid to understanding the degree of spiritual intimacy that God wishes to have with each individual human being, not as a transitory love affair, but an eternal ecstasy of oneness with Him.
The Creator smiled and then went and lay down under a tree. Red and Lifegiver looked at Him as He shimmered there against the grass, and Red asked, "What are you doing?" He replied with a happy smile, "Evening has come, the day is finished, and so is my work. I am now going to rest. Come my children, lay here beside me and rest, as well."
Red and Lifegiver walked over to Him hand in hand and lay down on the springy moss beside Him. Red rested his head against the Creator's shoulder and Lifegiver lay down against His other side. Animals settled down on the ground around them, curling up with their mates, the sound of their purring and breathing making a comfortable sound in the dim twilight. A little distance away, the larger beasts heaved their huge, bulky bodies under the trees, and their breath soon roared softly across the lawn.
Lifegiver reached her hand across and took Red's. She felt his love for her, but it wasn't as vast as her Father's. Nonetheless, it was very pleasant, and his touch stirred a desire in her flesh that was unthinkable in relation to her Father.
It was good, though. Father said it was good, and it sure felt good, but it wasn't time, yet, to fulfill it. That would come, after she knew her husband's mind and heart better. She fell asleep to the sweet lullaby of the warm breathing that surrounded her, the sound of a fish leaping in the river, a cricket's chirp, and the touch of her Father's arm clasped firmly around her shoulder.
The next morning, when the sky had lightened to a pale pink and the music of the stars could be heard, Red and Lifegiver awakened to see the Creator getting up on the back of a dinosaur. They asked, "What are you doing?" He replied, "I thought I would go for a ride and look around at this beautiful garden that I planted. Do you want to come with me?"
I can see them leaping to their feet and finding animals of similar size to ride on, and having a great time exploring that day. I imagine that they all went swimming in a river and swung on vines, played with the animals, and sat around trying out various vegetables, grains, herbs, fruits, and berries. None of it was work; it was all play.
I see the three of them walking together through the garden, and passing by the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Red suddenly remembered the admonition that Papa had given him the day before. He turned to the woman and said, "Lifegiver, you must be careful to never eat the fruit from this tree. Papa has forbidden it. He says that if we eat from it, we will die."
The woman looked at Red in puzzlement and asked, "What does it mean to die?" Red looked at the Creator with an equally perplexed expression on his face. He and the woman had no idea what it could possibly mean. All around them, there was only life and health. The Creator looked at them solemnly and said, "I will show you death."
He led them to the Tree of Life. Red said, "But you told me that is the Tree of Life." The Creator nodded and said, "It is. You may freely eat of it whenever you like. But watch what happens now." He raised His hand and brought it swiftly forward in a slicing motion. A flash of light blazed from His hand and struck the Tree.
Red and Lifegiver fell back in surprise and tumbled to the ground. When they looked at the tree again, it had changed! It looked awful! Its trunk was slashed and the leaves on it had withered. Its fruit was shrivelled and smelled so bitter that they could taste it on their tongues. Red and Lifegiver clutched at each other and looked at their Creator with wide eyes.
The Creator turned and said, "You saw the Tree flourishing, its fruit was sweet and full, the leaves green and fresh. Now all that you see is decay and death and bitterness. That is what will happen to you, if you eat from the other tree." In this way, the Tree of Life became like a skull and crossbones label on a bottle of poison, warning them of the consequences of eating from the Forbidden Tree.
It was a sobering lesson. The Creator reached forth His hands and pulled the couple to their feet. They followed behind Him silently for a while, their brows furrowed in deep thought, until the antics of the animals caught their attention and set them all to laughing.
As evening fell, perhaps the Creator remained standing when His children settled down to go to sleep, and Red asked, "Aren't you going to cuddle up with us?" Maybe He said, "I will always be with you, even if you don't see me. Now get some sleep because you have work to do tomorrow."
"Work?" Red asked. "Yes," replied the Creator, "This Garden needs to be kept trimmed. You'll have to direct the animals where to eat so that it doesn't get overgrown. It will be fun." Then the Creator vanished. Red and Lifegiver didn't think it strange. Why wouldn't the Creator be able to vanish if He willed it? They smiled happily and closed their eyes in sleep, anticipating their new duties as the keepers of the Garden.
1Man (meaning both men and women) have been made in the likeness of God. When John the Beloved saw Yeshua manifested in His glory in Revelation 1, he noted in verse 13 that Yeshua was bound about His paps with a golden girdle. The word used for paps is "mastos", meaning a female breast. Also, God says in Isaiah 66:13 "As one whom his mother comforts, so will I comfort you;" His is not only a strong, broad, fatherly chest that we can rest on, it is also a soft, nourishing, motherly chest that we can draw from.
It is because God has both male and female attributes, that both men and women are components of His image. It isn't just men who were made in His image. After the feminine was taken out of Adam to fashion Eve, men reflected only God's masculinity.
The fact that God has paps that yield milk does not provide a basis for goddess worship. God obviously wants us to think of Him primarily as a Father, for that is what Yeshua always called Him.
